Community Art
Participation in and working with the community on Art projects has been integral to Lou’s practice since moving to Ballan in the mid 1990’s. Lou, a founding member of Wombat Regional Arts Network (2000), was instrumental in community arts projects such as the ‘Shoes and Bra’s’ exhibition, ‘Masks and Mirrors’, and ‘Cafe Bohemia’.
Recent projects include ‘Black Nite, Black Lite’, a winter solstice community arts celebration using fluorescence, materials and black light in shopfront exhibitions.
Lou is a committed advocate for community arts, focusing on opportunities for individuals and groups to make connections between art and wellness.
