ARTIST CV
MY LIFE IN ART
Lou Callow’s CV
My career as an Arts Educator spans more than 40 years; the past 24 years were spent at Bacchus Marsh Grammar, until changing direction in 2020. My responsibilities included Head of Arts, Artist in Residence, and working as part of Pastoral Care and Student Wellbeing teams.
Over many years I guided students in the production of community arts, including garden mosaics, sculptures, and large mural paintings to nurture pride of place, connectedness and belonging in the school environment.
In 2011 a news arts building at the school was named ‘The Lou Callow Gallery and Art School’ in recognition of my commitment to teaching art, and contributions to the wider school community. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to work with so many young people and staff at BMG.
